Cultural Agenda January/February 2012

EDITO - Nathalie Korkmaz, Director

This year the Alliance française de Glasgow is celebrating its 30th anniversary! Part of a world-wide network and created in 1982, the Alliance française de Glasgow has grown over the years - it is now the second largest in the UK - and has continued to offer a wide range of courses and activities around the French language and culture year after year. We are therefore very happy to organise various events throughout 2012 to celebrate our progress.

Besides our regular workshops designed to widen your knowledge of French language and culture, and because food is a very important aspect of our culture, our first event of the year will be the tasting of “la Galette des Rois” with a workshop and a quiz.

To mark our 30th anniversary, we are very proud to launch the French Passions series in Glasgow with Alasdair Gray, who will talk about his “amour” of French literature from Voltaire to Camus! French Passions will be run monthly, inviting Scottish authors to talk about their links with French literature during very delightful evenings!

All of us at the AF Glasgow hope that you will enjoy these upcoming events during this exciting year with us.
