What is La fête de la musique?

La Fête de la Musique is a long established tradition in France which takes place each on 21st June, the day of the summer solstice in the northern hemisphere.

The idea behind it is for every music maker, amateur or professional, to come out onto the streets, the squares and the cafés to play or sing for free as the public wanders from place to place and from artist to artist. This event embraces all different styles of music and young and emerging musicians are encouraged to take part alongside established performers.

Date: Thursday 21st June
Time: 6pm
Venue Alliance Française Glasgow, 3 Park Circus, G3 6AX
