Learning French with Alliance Française Glasgow

The academic year is organised in 4 terms of 8 weeks starting in September, November, February & April. Enrolement for a class is possible at any point during the year.
These workshops are made for you to progress on specific aspects of the language. They are a good complement if you study French at the Alliance, at the University or plan to take an exam. 

Our teachers are all qualified native French speakers and our classes are always limited to 15 students* to ensure the best teaching conditions.

How do I join a class ?

If you are a new student, follow these steps: 

1. Create an account on our website
2. Check you level through our
online quiz and book a quick 15-minute phone assessment with one of our teachers. 
3. Once you get your results, simply enrol in the corresponding class !

Conversation + Grammar

Workshops
This blend of grammar and conversation offers an ideal way to sharpen specific language skills while applying them in real-world contexts. It’s designed for university students but open to anyone eager to improve their language abilities.


Pace: 1.5 hour class / 1 time a week

DELF A2 Preparation Course

Workshops
This class is designed to prepare you for the DELF examination. The course is run by our teachers who are also certified DELF examiners. You will practice the four types of exercises of the DELF exam (Listening, Reading, Speaking, Writing) through various activities.

This class consists of two 3-hour workshops taking place on Friday morning.


Pace: 3 hours class / 1 time a week

DELF B1 Preparation Course

This class is designed to prepare you for the DELF examination. The course is run by our teachers who are also certified DELF examiners. You will practice the four types of exercises of the DELF exam (Listening, Reading, Speaking, Writing) through various activities.

This class consists of two 3-hour workshops taking place on Friday morning.

This class consists of four 2-hour workshops taking place on Friday morning.


Pace: 2 hours class / 1 time a week

Translation Course

Workshops
This course is designed to help you improve your translation skills, whether you're working from English to French or French to English. With practical exercises and expert guidance, you'll enhance your accuracy and confidence. While it’s perfect for university students, anyone interested in improving their language skills is welcome to join!


Pace: 1.5 hour class / 1 time a week
