Terms And Conditions
Your payment must be received in full before enrolling in any of our classes, workshops or cultural events.
Your place on your chosen course/cultural event will not be confirmed until your full payment has been received.
The Alliance Française Glasgow does not accept payment by instalments.
We accept payment by debit/credit card, PayPal and bank transfer. We will not be accepting payments by cash or cheque for the foreseeable future.
Fees can neither be refunded nor held in credit if you withdraw once you have enrolled and your payment has been accepted. There will be no partial refund for classes not attended by the student. The Alliance Française Glasgow cannot accept responsibility for changes in a student’s circumstances that may prevent them from attending their course.

If, due to adverse weather or unforeseen circumstances, we have to cancel a lesson, you will be notified by the Language Office by email or by phone as soon as possible and we will do our best to reschedule this lesson at a later date (exceptions apply in case of building closure and weather warnings).
In the unlikely event of an incident beyond our control which forces the closure of our premises or prevents us from delivering our classes (e.g. extreme weather event, generalised internet failure, governmental order or advice from the emergency services), we reserve the right to cancel any courses scheduled for the days concerned, without refund.
Once you sign up for any of our classes, you accept the format of the class as offered by the Alliance Française Glasgow, whether classes take place at our premises, externally or online/remotely. This extends to on-site classes which may need to take place online temporarily due to circumstances beyond our control.
Enrolment & Behaviour
You must be at least 18 years-old in order to enrol in one of our adult French classes.
Due to limited capacity in each class, we may have to determine a deadline to re-enrol for the following term/semester which will be notified to you by email when the current term/semester is coming to an end. Following this deadline, we will not be able to guarantee a space in your course.
Please note we do not offer taster sessions for our classes.
Our teachers have all signed contracts with the Alliance Française Glasgow which do not allow them to teach privately students who have first been introduced by the Alliance. We ask that our students respect this policy.
The Alliance Française Glasgow reserves the right to refuse entry to our premises, refuse an enrolment or to revoke an enrolment without refund in the event of non-respect of our Code of Conduct (available here).
We also reserve the right to accept or reject any application without assigning any reason.
Specification: Children’s classes
The Alliance Française Glasgow recognises that the welfare and interests of children are paramount in all circumstances and aims to ensure that all children have a positive and enjoyable experience of learning the French language in a safe environment whilst participating in our classes.
It remains the parent's/guardian’s responsibility to ensure that their child attends his/her French classes and arrives on time, whether they take place at our premises, externally or online.
The parent or guardian must notify the Language Office (firstname.lastname@example.org / 0141 331 4080) should their child be unable to attend a lesson or be late.
Specification: Online classes
Although we will do our best to help and guide you, the Alliance Française Glasgow will not be held responsible should you experience any type technical difficulties that are not directly within its control and which may take place before and during your class/lesson (quality of your internet connection or any related problems e.g. if the Skype/Zoom video call updating slowly affects your lesson).
This applies to all our online classes.
We recommend using a computer which is in good operating order and fully updated, with a good-quality headset equipped with microphone, and a webcam (which may be integrated or external).
Specification: Private Tuition
Fees can neither be refunded nor held in credit if you withdraw once your sessions have started. There will be no partial refund for sessions not attended by the student.
A session can be rescheduled if a notice of at least 24 hours is given. If a cancellation occurs within 24 hours of the session taking place, the full fee will be charged and the lesson will not be rescheduled.
Your session(s) must be used within 12 months from date of payment.
When visiting our premises, in the event of non-respect of our special Covid-19 health and safety procedures, we reserve the right to ask you to leave immediately, to revoke your enrolment without refund and to refuse future admission to the premises.
As stated in our Code of Conduct, an appeals process is available. In the event of non-observance, we can take no responsibility for your health and safety.
We recognize the importance of data protection. Your details will be not transferred or shared with any third unrelated parties.
