Atelier d'écriture - Mars (Printemps des Poètes)
Date: 25 Mar 2025, 6:00pm - 7:30pm GMT UK
Volcanique !
"Si les hommes ne dansaient pas sur les volcans, je me demande où et quand ils danseraient" —Jacques Perret
For the Printemps des Poètes, unleash your
creativity and write an acrostic poem that captures the essence of the volcanic eruption.
- An acrostic poem* is where the first letter of each line spells out a word or message. This type of poem offers a unique structure to convey powerful imagery. (*example of acrostic below)
In a relaxed, French-speaking atmosphere, you'll have the opportunity to explore the theme of a volcano—its explosive energy, its simmering
quiet, or the relentless flow of lava—as you craft your acrostic. Whether you're an aspiring writer or simply curious about expressing your
thoughts in French, this workshop is a chance to unleash your creativity and embrace endless possibilities.
Let each letter ignite your imagination and allow the poem to erupt with passion and force.
Also, as for the Printemps des Poètes, a jury will be present to award a prize to the
best poem
this evening!
Places are limited, please let us know if you can no longer come. :)

About Emma : Emma is originally from France. She has come to Scotland to focus on her own writing, but also to share her love
for storytelling through workshops that are both fun and enriching.
With her background in literature and creative writing, she aims to create a space where participants can freely explore their creativity,
experiment with ideas, and most importantly, enjoy the process of writing together in French.
She is excited to see what everyone will create during this time!
Example of acrostic :
Automne de Raoul BECOUSSE
Au verger, les feuilles tombent.
Une troupe d’écoliers,
Traverse la rue en trombe.
Octobre, dans les celliers,
Manipule ses barriques.
Novembre mélancolique
Effeuille les peupliers.
