Les causeries avec la prof - Octobre

Date: 7 Oct 2025, 6:00pm - 7:30pm GMT UK

Join us for the Causeries avec la prof with Zoé for a captivating discussion on "The Tour de Nesle affair," a scandalous tale of power, betrayal, and intrigue in medieval France.

During the Easter week of 1314, three royal princesses are arrested and accused of adultery by their father-in-law, King Philip IV. Of all three of them, only one survived her arrest. Historians through the years have disregarded these accusations, even though the primary material never confirmed that these three women were rightfully accused. This causerie will look into the lives of these three women and question the different reasons behind their arrests.
