Gerry Toner, chair of the Franco-Scottish Society Glasgow Branch, will explore a range of bagpipes and examine their musical structure. He’ll look at other instruments, stringed instruments, with the same or similar approach to harmony or polyphony.

Gerry’s presentation will be illustrated with several musical excerpts from YouTube and he will himself provide illustrations on a couple of instruments.

This event is organised by the Franco-Scottish Society. As always, the evening will include a warm, social gathering for catching up with old friends and meeting new ones in both French and English, with wine and soft drinks provided.

The presentation is open to all students and friends of Alliance Française Glasgow. However, numbers are limited, so we encourage you to register in advance to secure your spot.
