Un matin à Paris, alors qu'il ouvre sa librairie, Laurent Letellier découvre dans la rue un sac à main abandonné. Curieux, il en fait l'inventaire et découvre, faute de papiers d'identité, une foule d'objets personnels : photos, parfum... et un carnet rouge rempli de notes. Désireux de retrouver la propriétaire du sac, Laurent s'improvise détective. À mesure qu'il déchiffre les pages du carnet contenant les pensées intimes de l'inconnue, le jeu de piste se mue progressivement en une quête amoureuse qui va chambouler leurs vies.

One morning in Paris, as he opens his bookstore, Laurent Letellier discovers an abandoned handbag in the street. Curious, he takes inventory and finds, lacking any identification papers, a plethora of personal items: photos, perfume... and a red notebook filled with notes. Eager to find the owner of the handbag, Laurent improvises as a detective. As he deciphers the pages of the notebook containing the unknown woman's intimate thoughts, the treasure hunt gradually transforms into a love quest that will upheave their lives.

Les femmes qui ont marqué notre histoire ? Jeanne d'Arc, Olympe de Gouges, Simone Veil, quelques autres... et c'est à peu près tout. Vraiment ? L'Histoire officielle, établie par les hommes, donne l'impression qu'à part quelques seconds rôles d'exception, les femmes n'ont fait que de la figuration. Il est temps de rétablir la vérité car, à toutes les époques, les femmes, connues ou anonymes, ont été bien présentes : elles ont agi, travaillé, créé, résisté, combattu pour leurs droits mais aussi pour leur pays ! Et les rendre enfin visibles, c'est proposer un récit augmenté de notre histoire, permettant de donner une représentation plus complète de la réalité, étape indispensable dans la longue lutte pour l'égalité entre les hommes et les femmes.

The official history, established by men, gives the impression that apart from a few exceptional supporting roles, women have only played minor parts. It's time to set the record straight because, in all eras, women, whether known or anonymous, have been very present: they have acted, worked, created, resisted, fought for their rights but also for their country! And finally making them visible is to propose an augmented narrative of our history, allowing for a more complete representation of reality, an essential step in the long struggle for equality between men and women.

La trilogie cinématographique Belle et Sébastien est sortie entre 2013 à 2018. Félix Bossuet, y tient le rôle de Sébastien au côté de Tchéky Karyo (César) et Margaux Châtelier (Angelina). Les films ont été réalisés successivement par Nicolas Vanier, Christian Duguay et Clovis Cornillac.
