What is the DAEFLE?

The DAEFLE or Diplôme d’Aptitude à l’Enseignement du Français Langue Etrangère is a professional qualification for teaching French as a foreign language, jointly organised by the Alliance française Paris Ile-de-France and the CNED, the French national centre for distance learning. This diploma is aimed at anyone preparing to teach or already teaching French as an additional langauge in France or abroad.

Candidates for the diploma must complete an extensive online course involving 480 hours of training and pass the final exam.

The course curriculum is geared towards classroom practice, with lectures structured around theoretical readings, hands-on activities and practical exercises. In addition, the course is effectively supported by online tutoring provided by our experienced teachers, helping you to acquire the knowledge and skills required for your field.
